Title: The Wildlife Photography

Local photographer, Justin Schmidt, is well known to many within wildlife appreciation community throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley. Through his lens on life, Justin seems to capture the most intimate and wild moments of local wildlife that are only seen but by a few lucky people. Through his skilled eye, he not only is able to ‘capture the moment’, but also in recognizing the setting in which his wildlife subjects are acting out their lives, adding depth and life to his images.

Growing up in New Jersey, and being interested in outdoor pursuits since he was a child, Justin began his interest in wildlife photography in college when he signed up for a couple photography courses. Today, as a 20 year resident of the Mid- Hudson Valley, Justin has fine-tuned his craft into becoming a National Geographic award winning wildlife photographer.

Tonight’s program is a first for Justin, who previously has never shown his work in a live, in- person presentation setting. And we are thrilled that Justin has agreed to make our bird club his first public showing of his work.
