Seen in the spatterdock between Cruger Island and Little or South Cruger picking through the mud–with a partner.  Susan  reports that the two juvenile little blue herons were not at all shy, and she floated nearby for about half an hour.

  Please note that Cruger Island is currently off limits.  Susan suggested that  if anyone wants to see the herons, they will need a boat or  could scan from the Bard Field Station and hope they re-enter the Bay.  Birds were first seen on 8.20.2013 and re-located on 8.21.2013.
