Lawrence’s Warbler – Buttercup Preserve East, Stanfordville 5.13.2014

Date: 5.11.2014Contributor(s): Susan Fox Rogers, Christina Baal

Location: Buttercup Preserve EAST

The Lawrence’s Warbler first discovered by Susan Fox Rogers and Christina Baal on 5.11.2014 at Buttercup Preserve East, Stanfordville NY, continues to be seen.  It remains in the same  general area west (downhill) from the pond at the back end of the preserve. A map of the Preserve can be viewed here: http://www.dutchessny.gov/CountyGov/Departments/DPW-Parks/tmsbuttercup.pdf

Please note – the trails on the East side of the Preserve ARE NOT MARKED.  Follow the trails that roughly parallel Attlebury Hill Road, when you see a stand of Tamarack trees to your left and a red barn, take the trail on the right side (an old wood post with some dandelions put on top is just past on the right)  and walk uphill, the bird was just below where the hill levels off.
