Iceland Gulls (first year) Red Wing Pond, Green Haven Road -2/1/14

Chet Vincent has found 2 first-year Iceland Gulls at the Red Wing Pond on Green Haven Road, Poughquag.  They were amongst hundreds of Ring-billed and Herring Gulls, so patience is required to spot them.  He also reports 2 Horned Grebes.  The Redheads were there but flew off.
Please note that the pond is on posted, private land, but there is an area to pull in in front of a black metal gate  (near Lime Ridge Road intersection).  A scope is recommended due to the distance of the waterfowl from the viewing area and tall vegetation interferes with viewing.
