Date: 5.13 & 5.14 2022Contributor(s): Debbie van Zyl, Deb Tracy-Kral
Location: New Hamburg, NY
A strong eastern wind blew migrating Arctic Terns from their habitual ocean migration route onto land, an epic event, on 5/13/22 and many were seen on lakes and rivers in the northeast. There were still some stragglers on the Hudson, perhaps re-routing, on 5/14. A pale long-tailed buoyant-flying tern that many were able to see on the river.
