DEC Camp 2004

Hi, this is Jeff Lucas! I want to thank the membership for sponsoring my niece Emily at Camp DeBruce this year.  Here's a thank you letter from Emily:

Dear Waterman Bird Club,

Thank you very much for sponsoring me to go to Camp Debruce this summer.  I not only learned a lot, but I made a lot of new friends.  While we were there we got to go to the fish hatchery, went canoeing, fished, hiked to a waterfall, and a lot of camp fires where we got to learn something about each of the kids.  We learned a lot about the environment and how to help protect it.  We did some activities that showed the effects of pollution and what's being done to stop it.  We got to go to the creek and found lots of different kinds of animals.  We found fish, snakes, mud puppies, frogs, salamanders and different water-bugs.  A lot of the campers at DeBruce were from the city and got to do things they would never have been able to do at home.  One of the girls at the camp saw a star for the first time in her life at the campfire.   I just wanted to say thank you for the great experience you allowed me to have by going to DeBruce. Thanks again,

Emily Lucas, age 14
