Fourteen energetic people gathered at Sand
Dock Road in Poughkeepsie, our designated area to be cleaned
as part of Scenic
Hudsons Great River Sweep project.

| Sand Dock Road, once a hot birding spot in Dutchess County,
has become a destination for ATVs and parties. Unfortunately,
they carry in but not out. |

In just four hours we had gathered 700 beverage containers
(400 of these were NYS redeemable), 28 bags of trash, 25
tires, 2 rugs (once 9x12s), floor tile, car parts,
a bench car seat, PVC pipe, a bike seat, a radiator, window
shades and blinds, a TV, a radio, a pool liner, andlast
but not leasta miniature toilet ashtray.

Special thanks to Allan Michelin for contacting the
owners of the property and obtaining permission for us
to clean the area. Allan also secured the use of a dumpster
from Royal Carting. Royal Carting gets a big Thank
You. Without the use of their donated 20 cubic
yard dumpster, we could not have done our job. Many thanks
also to Barbara Butler for suggesting we take part in
the Great River Sweep.

It was wonderful to see what can be accomplished
when a group works together. Please join us next year!
